经济与管理学院《管理信息系统》课程教学大纲
总学时数:54 学分:3 适用专业:管理类课程的性质,目的和任务管理信息系统(MIS)是工商管理类本科专业的专业核心课程,它综合运用了管理科学,系统科学,行为科学,数学,计算机科学和通信技术等多学科知识,它是介于上述学科之间的一门边缘性,深刻性,系统性的交叉学科,运用这些学科的概念和方法融合提炼组成一套新的体系和方法.是一门实践性,技巧性和可操作性均极强的课程.本课程以应用性,发展性,综合性为主要指导思想,强调信息系统分析的重要性而不是单纯介绍系统设计技术.通过对本课程的教学,可使学生掌握管理信息系统的基本知识及管理信息系统的分析与设计要领,了解MIS的典型应用系统方案及相关技术的发展,能把有关的管理科学知识和计算机等信息技术的应用有机地结合起来,并通过实践熟悉管理信息系统的整个开发过程,掌握现代企业的管理信息系统的开发与管理方法,培养良好的组织管理能力、创新能力、应变能力和动手操作能力.
通过中英双语教学,扩大学生的英语词汇量及阅读科技英语的能力、促进信息技术学科的学习,掌握信息技术英语词汇,达到能听懂双语授课,熟练地使用英文软件及用计算机软件编制应用程序,能理解科技英语屏幕显示信息,根据系统提供的帮助文件,自学软件的操作与使用,提高学生综合应用英语和信息技术两个学科知识的能力与水平.
课程教学的基本要求本课程的主要教学目标是使管理类本科专业学生了解和掌握以下重要知识:
1,理解在当今新的商业环境下,信息对于商家的重要价值,以及信息系统的战略作用;掌握MIS的基本概念与相关知识;掌握信息技术的基本内容、初步具备信息技术基础知识;
2,掌握最新信息技术发展趋势及其在工商管理中的应用;
3,了解如何组织并规划信息化建设,掌握企业信息系统规划的思想方法,了解常用的信息系统开发方法以及系统开发中的管理协调.并能针对组织的实际情况提出合理的信息系统方案.了解MIS的典型应用系统方案及相关技术的发展.理解信息系统面临的安全问题,能够为组织建立信息安全措施和完善安全管理制度.培养和锻炼学生进行企业信息系统建设的战略决策以及信息系统整体规划的实际能力
4,通过本课程的学习,学生应该具备阅读英文原版教材的能力、掌握重要的信息技术英文词汇和基本概念,能够通过各种信息渠道来获取和充分利用相关英文文献资料.
课程教学内容The purpose of the course is to provide undergraduates with understanding why an organization need information systems, how the companies in 21st century can gain the competitive advantage by use of ITIS. The course focus on the key management, organization and technology issues relating to information systems use in business, particularly issues in introduction to the technology concepts underlying modern computing and information management, aligning ITIS to business strategy, the organization, and business model, and transitioning to e-Business or e-Enterprise.
The course content will be composed of five modules(主要由以下五部分组成):
Module Ⅰ:Foundation Concepts(第一部分:基本概念)
Fundamental business information systems concepts include trends, components, and roles of information systems (Chapter 1) and competitive advantage concepts and applications (Chapter2). Other behavioral, managerial, and technical concepts are presented where appropriate in selected chapters.
Chapter 1: Foundations of Information Systems in Business(信息系统基本概念)
Presents an overview of the five basic areas of information systems knowledge needed by business professionals, including the conceptual system components and major types of information systems.
Section1: Foundations Concepts: Information Systems and Information Systems Are Important-The Real World of Information e-Business and e-Commerce Initiatives-An IS Framework for Business Professionals

Section2: Foundations Concepts: Business Applications, Development, and Management-The Fundamental Roles of IS Applications in in Information Systems-The e-Business of Information Challenges of Information Objective(学习目标)
Explain why knowledge of information systems is important for business professionals and identify five areas of information systems knowledge they need.
Give examples to illustrate how e-business, electronic commerce, or enterprise collaboration systems could supportafirms business processes, managerial and strategies for competitive advantage.
Provide examples of the components of real world information systems. Illustrate that in an information system, people use hardware, software, data, and networks as resources to perform input, processing, output, storage, and control activities that transform data resources into information products.
Provide examples of several major types of information systems from your experiences with business organizations in the real world.
Identify several challenges thatabusiness manager might face in managing the successful and ethical development and use of information technology inabusiness.
Chapter2: Competing with Information Technology(信息技术的战略竞争优势)
Purpose of the chapter is to introduce fundamental concepts of competitive advantage through information technology, and illustrates strategic applications of information systems that can gain competitive advantages for todays global e-business enterprise.
Section1: Fundamentals of Strategic Advantage
-Corporation: Using Information Technology for Competitive Strategy Uses of Information Technology-The Value Chain and e-Business and e-Commerce Strategies
Section2: Using Information Technology for Strategic use of Business Business an Agile Objectives(学习目标)
Identify several basic competitive strategies and explain how they can use information technologies to confront the competitive forces faced byabusiness.
Identify several strategic uses of information technologies for electronic business and commerce, and give examples of how they give competitive advantages toabusiness.
Give examples of how business process reengineering frequently involves the strategic use of e-business technologies.
Identify the business value of using e-business technologies for total quality management, to become an agile competitor, or to formavirtual company.
Explain how knowledge management systems can helpabusiness gain strategic advantages.
Module Ⅱ:Information Technologies(第二部分:信息技术)
Major concepts, developments, and managerial issues involved in computer hardware, software, networks, and data resource management technologies (Chapters 3,4,5,and 6). Other technologies used in e-business systems are discussed where appropriate in selected chapters.
Chapter 3: Computer Hardware(计算机硬件)
The chapter reviews trends and developments in microcomputer, midrange, and mainframe computer systems; basic computer system concepts; and the major types of technologies used in peripheral devices for computer input, output, and storage.
Section 1: Computer Systems: End User and Enterprise In Computer Criteria for Buying PC Computer Computer Systems
-Technical Note: The Computer System Concept
Section 2: Computer Peripherals: Input, Output, and Storage Technology Recognition Scanning-Other Input Technologies and Trends-Video Output-Printed Output-Storage Rends And Disk Tape Disk the major types, trends, and uses of microcomputer, midrange and mainframe computer systems.
Outline the major technologies and uses of computer peripherals for input, output, and storage.
Identify and give examples of the components and functions ofacomputer system.
Identify the computer systems and peripherals you would acquire or recommend forabusiness of your choice, and explain the reasons for your selections.
Chapter 4: Computer Software (计算机软件)
Purpose of this chapter is to give you an overview of computer software by reviewing the basic features and trends in the major types of application software and system software used to support enterprise and end user computing.
Section 1: Application Software: End User to Software for End Users-Software Suites And Integrated Packages-Web Browsers and Mail-Word Processing and Desktop Graphics and Information Business Software
Section 2: System Software: Computer System Software Management Management Systems-Other System Management several important trends occurring in computer software.
Give examples of several major types of application and system software.
Explain the purpose of several popular microcomputer software packages for end user productivity and collaborative computing.
Outline the functions of an operating system.
Describe the main uses of high-level, and Web-oriented programming languages and tools.
Chapter 5: Data Resource Management(数据资源管理)
Purpose of the chapter is to emphasize management of the data resources of computer-using organizations. The chapter reviews key database management concepts and applications in business information systems.
Section 1: Managing Data Resources-Data Resource Data Concepts-The Database Management Approach-Using Database Management Software-Types of Databases-Data Warehouses and Data Databases on the Data Resource Management
Section 2: Technical Foundations of Database Technology and the Web-Accessing the importance of implementing data resource management processes and technologies in an organization.
Outline the advantages of the database management approach to managing the data resources ofabusiness.
Explain how database management software helps business professionals and supports the operations and management ofabusiness.
Provide examples to illustrate each of the following concepts:a. Major types of databasesb. Data warehouses and data miningc. Logical data database access development
Chapter 6: and Networks(通信网络)
Purpose of this chapter is to present an overview of networks, applications, and trends, and review technical alternatives.
Section 1: The in Business Value of Networks-The Internet Use of the Internet-The Business Value of the Internet-The Role of Intranets-The Role of Extranets
Section 2: Network Alternatives-A Network Model-Type of Media-Wireless Architectures and several major developments and trends in the industries, technologies, and applications of and Internetwork technologies.
Provide examples of the business value of Internet, intranet, and extranet applications.
Identify the basic components, functions, and types of networks used in business.
Explain the functions of major types of network hardware, software, media, and services.
Module Ⅲ: Business Applications(第三部分:商业应用)
How the Internet, intranets, extranets, and other information technologies are used in e-business enterprises to support electronic business and commerce and business (Chapters 7,8,and 9).
Chapter 7: Electronic Business Systems(电子商务系统)
Describes how information systems integrate and support business processes and the business functions of marketing, manufacturing, human resource management, accounting, and finance.
Section 1: e-Business Enterprise Resource Relationship Application Chain Transaction Collaboration
Section 2: Functional e-Business Systems-The Business Value of Web-Based Human Resource Systems-Human Resource Management each of the following e-business systems and give examples of how they can provide significant business value toacompany and its customers and business partners.
Enterprise resource relationship application chain transaction examples of how Internet and other information technologies support business processes within the business functions of accounting, finance, human resource management, marketing, and production and operations management.
★Chapter 8: Electronic Commerce Systems(电子贸易系统)
Introduces the basic process components of e-commerce systems, and discusses important trends, applications, and issues in e-commerce.
Section 1:Electronic Commerce Fundamentals
Section 2:e-Commerce Applications and Issues
★Chapter 9: Decision Support Systems(决策支持系统)
Shows how management information systems, decision support systems, executive information systems, expert systems, and artificial intelligence technologies can be applied to situations faced by business managers and professionals in todays e-business environment.

Section 2:Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Business
Module Ⅳ:Development Processes(第四部分:系统开发)
Developing and implementing e-business strategies and systems using several strategic planning and application development approaches (Chapter 10).
Chapter 10:Developing e-Business Solutions(电子商务方案的开发)
Introduces the traditional, prototyping, and end user approaches to the development of e-business systems, and discusses the processes and managerial issues involved in the implementation of new e-business applications.
Section 1:Developing e-Business Systems-The Systems Approach-The Systems Development the Systems Development Design-End User Development
Section 2:Implementing e-Business Customer Centric e-Business New Hardware, Software, and Services-Other Implementation Organizational ChangeUse the systems development process outlined in this chapter, and the model of IS components from Chapter1as frameworks to help you propose information systems solutions to simple business problems.
Describe and give examples to illustrate how you might use each of the steps of the information systems development cycle to develop and implement an e-business system.
Explain how prototyping improves the process of systems development for end users and IS specialists.
Identify the activities involved in the implementation of new information systems.
Describe several evaluation factors that should be considered in evaluating the acquisition of hardware, software, and IS services.
Identify several change management solutions for end user resistance to the implementation of new e-business applications.
Module Ⅴ:Management Challenges(第五部分:来自管理的挑战)
The challenges of e-business technologies and strategies, including security and ethical challenges and global IT management (discussed in many chapters, but emphasized in Chapters 11and 12).
★Chapter 11: Security and Ethical Challenges of e-Business(电子商务的安全和道德伦理问题)
Discusses the threats against, and defenses needed for e-business performance and security, as well as the ethical implications and societal impacts of information technologies.

★Chapter 12: Enterprise and Global Management of e-Business Technology(电子商务技术在企业内及全球管理界的影响)
Emphasizes the impact of e-business technologies on management and organizations, the components of information systems management, and the managerial implications of the use of information technology in global e-business.
Section 1: Managing e-Business Technologies
Section 2: Global e-Business Technology Management
注:★号章节为选讲部分.本课程与其它课程的关系该课程与管理学原理,计算机基础、数据库原理,高级语言等有着密切的关系,因此,该课程必须让学生学完上述课程后开设,另外由于使用英文原版教材,还要求学生有一定的英语基础、具备较扎实的外文阅读理解能力.

教学环节应符合以下要求:
(1)教师在教学过程中注重本课程基本概念,基本原理方法及基本思想的介绍.
(2)教师在教学过程中注意理论与实证结合,尽可能使用案例教学.
(3)在教学过程中、教学方法上注重启发式教学方式,同时注意运用课堂提问和课堂讨论的方式,有计划地安排进行多媒体教学.
另外,就目前在我院《管理信息系统》教学中、还需要对中英双语教学相应
的对策与措施做进一步的探究:
(1) 双语教学触及到信息技术学科知识和专业用语、在教学中应做相应的补充、将单一的生活语言转向生活与学科语言并重的教学.
(2)在教学中、除了英语讲授知识外,还有意识的在板书及布置作业,演示、提问时均使用英语并配以中英对照,用中文对难以理解的地方进行重复讲解,以保证教学进度和教学质量,以此实现中英双语完成教学任务.
